When Stress Becomes Too Much to Carry Alone
Person-Centred Counselling for Stress and Overwhelm
Stress is part of life — but when it builds over time or becomes constant, it can leave you feeling depleted, irritable, or out of balance. You might be juggling family demands, work pressures, financial worries, or simply trying to meet the expectations of daily life. At some point, it can start to feel like too much.
Maybe you’ve been pushing through for a long time. Maybe you’ve noticed signs in your body — disrupted sleep, fatigue, headaches, or tension. Or maybe you’re feeling emotionally flat or quick to anger and not quite sure why.
Whatever your experience, stress doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means something needs attention — and support is available
A Person-Centred Approach to Stress Counselling
My approach is person-centred, integrative, and collaborative. That means we begin with where you are — and work together to explore what’s happening, why it might feel so heavy, and what might help.
I offer a calm, non-judgemental space where you can speak openly about the pressures you’re carrying. There is no need to justify or minimise your experience. You’re welcome to come just as you are — tired, unsure, overwhelmed, or not even sure where to begin.
At the core of my practice is relationship. I believe real change begins in a space of safety, empathy, and mutual respect. We work at your pace, guided by what matters most to you.
Understanding Your Stress
Stress looks different for everyone. It might show up as:
Ongoing pressure at work or in your business
Worry about finances, bills, or future security
Family or relationship tension
Difficulty setting boundaries or saying no
Trying to keep up with everything — and losing sight of yourself
Physical symptoms like headaches, muscle tension, or poor sleep
Feeling like you’re always “on” and never able to fully rest
Often, it’s not just one thing — but a build-up over time that becomes harder to manage alone.
Support for a Wide Range of Life Pressures
In our work together, we can gently explore what’s contributing to your stress and how it’s impacting your wellbeing, relationships, and day-to-day life.
Support may include:hh
Understanding what’s driving your stress responses
Exploring unhelpful patterns like perfectionism or people-pleasing
Learning to recognise early signs of overwhelm
Developing simple, supportive strategies to regulate your nervous system
Reconnecting with your values, limits, and emotional needs
Creating more balance between responsibility and rest
Whether your stress is tied to work, finances, caregiving, health, or something less clear — it’s valid. You don’t need a diagnosis or a crisis to benefit from support.
Burnout and Emotional Exhaustion
Many people come to counselling feeling emotionally drained — like there’s nothing left to give. Burnout can happen when stress becomes chronic, especially in roles where you care for others or carry a lot of responsibility.
Together, we can explore what rest, boundaries, and recovery might look like for you — without guilt or pressure. Counselling can be a space to begin restoring your energy, focus, and sense of self.
In-Person and Online Counselling
I offer online stress counselling in WA, via secure online video or telephone sessions. Online support can be especially helpful if you’re busy, living regionally, or needing flexibility in how you access care.
You Don’t Have to Carry It Alone
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in stress, or unsure where to begin, that’s okay. You’re not alone — and you don’t have to keep pushing through without support.
I offer a free 15-minute phone call so we can connect, talk about what’s been going on, and see if counselling feels like a good fit.
